Game-Winning Appetizers
These game day bites are easy to grab between plays, packed with flavor, and guaranteed to keep your guests cheering—even if their team isn’t winning! So, let's huddle up and dive into these winning recipes that will make your football party an MVP.
Buffalo Chicken Sliders: These spicy, tangy sliders are sure to be a hit.
Ingredients:
2 lbs. boneless chicken breasts
1 cup buffalo wing sauce
1 packet ranch seasoning mix
12 slider buns
1 cup blue cheese dressing
1 cup shredded lettuce
Instructions:
Place the chicken breasts in a slow cooker. Sprinkle the ranch seasoning mix over the chicken, then pour the buffalo wing sauce on top.
Cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.
Shred the chicken with two forks, then stir to coat with the sauce.
Assemble the sliders by placing a spoonful of buffalo chicken on each slider bun, then top with blue cheese dressing and shredded lettuce.
Loaded Nacho Bar: Let your guests customize their nachos for the ultimate game-day snack.
Ingredients:
Tortilla chips
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 lb. ground beef or chicken, cooked and seasoned with taco seasoning
1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
1 cup salsa
1 cup guacamole
1 cup sour cream
Sliced jalapeños
Chopped cilantro
Diced onions
Diced tomatoes
Instructions:
Set up a nacho bar with all the toppings in separate bowls.
Allow guests to build their own nachos by layering tortilla chips with their choice of toppings.
Serve immediately with plenty of napkins!
BBQ Meatballs: These sweet and tangy meatballs are the perfect bite-sized treat.
Ingredients:
2 lbs. frozen meatballs (or homemade, if preferred)
2 cups BBQ sauce
1/2 cup grape jelly
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. garlic powder
Instructions:
In a slow cooker, combine BBQ sauce, grape jelly, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder. Stir until well mixed.
Add the frozen meatballs and stir to coat them in the sauce.
Cook on low for 4-5 hours, or until the meatballs are heated through and the sauce is bubbly.
Serve the meatballs straight from the slow cooker with toothpicks for easy eating.
The Hail Mary Margarita
Ingredients:
1 1/2 oz. tequila
1 oz. lime juice
1/2 oz. triple sec
1/2 oz. jalapeño simple syrup (make by simmering equal parts sugar, water, and sliced jalapeños until dissolved)
Lime wedges and jalapeño slices for garnish
Coarse salt for rimming the glass
Instructions:
Rim a margarita glass with lime juice and dip in coarse salt.
In a shaker, combine tequila, lime juice, triple sec, and jalapeño simple syrup with ice. Shake well.
Strain into the prepared glass over ice.
Garnish with a lime wedge and a jalapeño slice for a spicy kick.
Autumn Sangria
Ingredients:
1 bottle of red wine (such as Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon)
1/2 cup apple brandy (or regular brandy)
1/4 cup triple sec or orange liqueur
1 apple, thinly sliced
1 orange, thinly sliced
1 cinnamon stick
3-4 whole cloves
1 cup apple cider
1 cup club soda or ginger ale (for added fizz)
Instructions:
Prepare the Fruits: In a large pitcher, add the sliced apple & orange. Sprinkle the cinnamon stick, cloves, and star anise over the fruit.
Mix the Sangria: Pour the red wine, apple brandy, and triple sec into the pitcher. Add the apple cider and stir everything together.
Chill: Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight, to let the flavors meld.
Serve: Just before serving, add the club soda or ginger ale to the pitcher for a bit of fizz. Stir gently.
Garnish and Enjoy: Pour the sangria into glasses, making sure to include some of the fruit in each glass. Garnish with a cinnamon stick or a slice of apple, and enjoy your autumnal sip!
